THE BLACKWATER FEVER – ON TOUR

The Blackwater Fever hit the road again starting this Friday with dates across
February and March. Joining forces on most of the dates is the equally seething dark
and moody blues sultress Kira Puru & The Bruise.

These shows come at the tail end of recording sessions for TBWF.
Constructing their third full length album tentatively titled… The Depths.

THE BLACKWATER FEVER – LIQUID [HIP] REVIEW

At first listen, The Blackwater Fever evokes a swampy, dirty sound that conjures up the dark, mysterious American South; dense and heavy forested places you don’t want to happen upon alone. Their full sound quickly creates the illusion that every band member – four, maybe five— operate on high octane.

So imagine my surprise. The Blackwater Fever is Australian, not American. Band members? They’re a power duo.

The Blackwater Fever’s In Stereo is their second full-length album and if it were a young boy, at a guess, there would be Nirvana posters on his walls, his father’s John Lee Hooker tapes in his cassette deck and some of The Kills’ or BRMC’s CDs lying around the floor of his room. Perhaps lyrics by Tom Waits or Nick Cave would be scrawled into his notebooks, and his father’s whiskey would surely be stashed under his bed.
